Teens Need More Sleep... As a general rule most hotels allow you to check in at 3 pm on the day of arrival and you must check out by 12:00 pm on the day of departure; parents most learn to set restraints as well.

Enjoy family dinner together; according to Harvard, studies link regular family meals with the kinds of behaviors that parents want for their children: higher grade point averages, resilience and self esteem. Additionally, family meals are linked to lower rates of substance abuse, teen pregnancy, eating disorders, and depression.

Stop your teens sleep deprivation with this easy to follow schedule:

  • Family time, 4 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Chit chat with their friends, 5:30 pm to 6 pm
  • Spend 30 to 45 minutes on each subject, cover priority subjects first; take a 15 minute break and listen to soft music along with the subjects that don’t require their undivided attention
  • Brush their teeth and shower at 8:30 pm
  • Surf the web at 8:45 pm
  • Place electronic devices in a charging station created by the parents; set their alarm, “check out;” go to bed at 9:15 pm
  • Start their day, “check in” at 6:45 am
  • School 8 am
  • Friday evening through Sunday afternoon enjoy time with family and friends; catch a movie, go bowling, or just chill out. Reset your internal biological clock as you start off the week ahead

In families where parents set the time for sleep, the teens happier better rested state may be a sign of an organized family life; not simply a matter of bedtime.
